Rainbow Maniac – Going Out On My Own

Four pals from the Welsh valleys, Rainbow Maniac certainly don’t make the kind of sound that evokes rolling hills and fluffy sheep. Going Out On My Own is the first track from the upcoming EP1 to be released later this year on Phwoar & Peace Records. The frantic and blistering riffs combine old school rock with a modern sound, a bit like Japandroids, although with a much more amateur output as belies their years and experience. A laissez-faireĀ cadence to the vox is reflected in the looping lyrics all about a part for one on the town. Three minutes of raw looseness that batters with a kind of optimistic angst you’ll be wanting to head straight out with them.
