Sharon Van Etten – I Don’t Want To Let You Down

Of course it’s beautiful. Sharon Van Etten‘s sounds always are. I Don’t Want To Let You Down features vulnerable quivering vocals and regular disciplined rhythms, which blend together in a formation that always threatens to disintegrate were its strong veneer to be lifted, revealing the fragility beneath. About three minutes in we get a guitar solo loaded with poignancy and thick emotion. Her songs always sound perceptive, articulate and highly complex, at the same time as being raw and base, revealing very real sentiment and feeling. Intelligent and intuitive in the same moment. Another wonderful song.
