A frantic collection of pop punk tunes, Lost Boy ? and their latest offering are a bewildering package of sometimes attractive and sometimes antagonistic songs. A buzzing caffeine drenched rampage through distorted filters, immediate melodies and nervous bass lines, MTV is an exercise in song writing delivered with petulant energy. Is it successful? Aside from the somewhat irritating vocals, the immediacy and intensity of MTV is striking, the high impact lo-fi nature enticing. Davey Jones is famed for offering everything for free, but at $6.99 for 19 tracks MTV is practically a giveaway, so we shall forgive him for breaking with tradition. There is just one thing. That question mark. What DOES it mean? Nothing like an elusive edge to capture the attention.
